A. C. Gilbert

Building 3  Floor 3

A.C. Gilbert (February 15, 1884 – January 24, 1961) was the founder of the A.C. Gilbert Company, a toy company that made the original Erector Set. Erector Square was originally built as a factory for Gilbert Toys' product line. A. C. Gilbert's original office is preserved in all of its wood-paneled glory on the third floor of Building 3.
He's pictured here with one of the Ferris Wheel Erector Sets.
