I was born in Chomutov, Czech Republic. I currently reside in Milford, CT and have lived in many places such as: Israel, Virginia, Boston, South Carolina, California and recently Omaha, NE. I received a B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduate course work at the Massachusetts College of Art, and an M.F.A. from Clemson University. I have exhibited widely and my work is in many private collections.
I have been creating photograms by exposing out-dated black and white photo paper in room light and fixed to retain the image. These images become re-interpreted as they are scanned into vivid color archival prints attached onto wood 24” square panels. The resulting images conjure organic elements that take on a molecular investigation not from any biology we know. During my process, I also employ a variety of mixed media such as collage and glass seed beads that add to the depth and luster to the surface texture. All processes are sealed archivally.
