I have seen that what is struck down, crushed or splintered in the natural world is not destroyed, but has a resilience, the ability to transform, and to continue existing with new purpose, due to a powerful inner life force which we humans also possess. As I draw parallels between the human experience and the natural world, I work forcefully on large sheets of paper, using creative mark-making techniques, employing a myriad of implements beyond the brush, such as seed pods, feathers, twigs and scraps of paper. My prize-winning work has been in juried group and solo shows, locally, regionally and nationally.
