Phyllis Crowley

Building 2  Floor 1  Studio N

My photography has become increasingly abstract. Perception and point of view are my interests. Some of my work involves photographing through an interface such as water, dirty windows or snow, focusing on the interface and leaving the subject out of focus. This relates to my belief that we can never experience reality without a filter. In my latest series I adjust camera controls to make visible what the eye cannot see. This series evokes ancient forms of writing and forms a visual language. Multiple images help to deepen the emotion. The Asian Series is a toned black and white series and is influenced by Asian landscape art.

My work is in corporate, public and private collections.
