Maria Morabito

Building 7  Floor 2  Studio 6

I explore the abstract interplay between perception and imagination, focusing on themes of connection in nature, cultural landscapes, and personal identity. My work explores form and space, blending organic shapes and geometric structures, where each piece evolves through memory and imagination.

My paintings are layered journeys of mark-making, where initial sketches form the foundation for a tapestry of thoughts and associations. The 'Cultural Landscapes' series explores place and identity through my immigrant lens, examining creative forces in urban environments.

My sculptural work assembles elements to build new forms, pushing material boundaries. The 'Hope' series pays tribute to immigrant resilience and contribution, acknowledging stories shaped by conflict and natural disasters.

Through my art, I strive to decode our world, seeking a deeper understanding of shared human experiences and inviting a reimagining of our collective future.
