I make work out of unconventional materials such as tarpaper, string, vinyl, foam and pom poms. My work is process oriented combining the handmade with industrial, and organic with geometric form. Materials dictate the structure. Their different qualities influence the shape and content of work. The contradiction of hard/sturdy with soft/delicate allow me to develop an idea into an object that builds form and content into abstract narration. Materials as objects are full of symbolic contexts, values, and meanings.Circles, squares and grids have reappeared throughout my work- the grids of Geometric Abstraction and bold colors of Pop & Non-Objective compositions,
My work has been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally and nationally and can be found in corporate and public collections including Log-Me-In Headquarters in Boston, MA and Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC.
